TARC and Nokia signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

28 October 2010 is indeed another memorable day for TARC and Nokia. It is the day where TARC and Nokia, the industry leader in mobile solutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and sponsorship agreement to crystallize existing partnership on joint initiative of green effort.

The joint initiative signed by Dr. Tan Chik Heok, Principal of TAR College, and Mr. Francis Cheong, Senior Sustainability Manager of Nokia SEAP.

The MoU is aimed at further strengthening the education-industrial linkage between TAR College and Nokia. It is a testimony of the commitment and collaboration between two organizations in enhancing the student curriculum framework towards preparing a socially responsible and well rounded future leaders.

The success of ECOnnect, a phone recycling awareness campaign collaborated between TAR College and Nokia held last August, wouldn't have come this far without the help from you, the public. Students of TAR College managed to collect a total of 796 used phones from the public.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their great effort.

- 15 minutes before the closing ceremony on 13th August 2010, Nokia sponsored an additional Nokia X3, which is a new phone using to play music at Nokia truck during ECOnnect event to one of the lucky organising commitee who present on that day, in appreciation to his/her hard work.

We would like to thank you for attending the ECOnnect event on the 3rd to 5th August 2010 and your generous feedback.

We thank you from the bottom of our heart for recycling and supporting us. In total we have managed to gather 259 used phones for recycling, it would not be achievable without your help.

However, the phone recycling doesn't end here! We are having a follow up event ECOnnect Phone Fair at the TARC Canteen2 foyer from the 10th- 13th August 2010. The Nokia Lucky Guess is still on and you're welcomed to join us to keep up with the recycling of phones! Recycle your phones on the Nokia Recycling Kiosk (NRK) located on the Nokia Recycling Truck, adopt a tree in the process and stand a chance to win a brand new Nokia X6 and Nokia X3! Phone fair starts tomorrow from 10/8/10 - 13/8/10 (Tues - Fri)

Hi everyone,

After the ECOnnect event we will be having a "Phone Fair" on the 10th - 13 Aug 2010 (Tuesday - Friday) in canteen 2 from 9am - 5pm. For anyone of you who are interested in getting a new phone, come to phone fair. Prices so low that you can never get it else where except during phone fair.

Apart from that, we will also be exhibiting 3 booths (H Story, OVI software and Reborn) regarding phone recycling during this 4 days,  for those who miss the chance of going to the ECOnnect event, you are never too late to go and have a look during this 4 days event. Thus, Nokia recycling kiosk will still be station in the Nokia truck opposite canteen 2 during this 4 days of phone fair, so everyone is invited to bring in their old unused phones for continuous recycling and still stand a chance to win a BRAND NEW NOKIA X6. As winners will only be announce on Friday 13 August 2010.

So come bring old phones to be recycled and stand a chance winning home a brand new Nokia X6....
