TARC principal Dr. Tan, learning to use the Nokia recycling kiosk by recycling his own used mobile phone |
The Nokia Recycling Kiosk (NRK) is the 1st mobile phone recycling kiosk in the world, and being one of its kind this incredible machine's application and website-hosting software was actually designed by our very own student in TARC, School of Arts and Science Advanced Diploma in Computer Science 2000 graduate, Richard Wong Swee King.
Apart from that, we also have a Nokia mobile truck park in front of our college hall main entrance, come take a look if you have not seen this.
Inside the truck, it exhibited on different kinds of phone components that can be recycling in to different raw materials.
Many students also gather together in front of the Nokia mobile truck to play the guessing game " Guess the Model". They were given pictured and some simple description about the phone, and were required to guess the model of the phone on the screen, if guesses were accurate they will be entitled to redeem a mystery gift.
We also invited Zodiac Cheerleading team to perform during the event.
